Dear Parents,

A question for all of you---Is there anyone who would like to keep Mango and Jelly for the summer holiday?  I just wanted to put that out there…if not I have a veterinarian friend who can take them while we are all gone, but I wanted to give you the chance. Just let me know if you are interested. J

There seems to be a lot of things going around right now—today most classes were down to 9 or 10 students including ours, and at the end of the day we were down to 3 teachers!  If your child had a fever, or is feeling unwell or absolutely exhausted, please do keep them at home.  We know many families are traveling in the next couple of weeks and we want you and your family to be healthy for whatever your summer plans are! J

May 16, 2014

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for coming to our portfolio celebration and share today!  The cuties were SO happy that you were here with them!!!! We have such an amazing and special class today and I felt unbelievable joy today looking at their smiling faces and yours today!
The first page of the portfolios are fixed—everyone took them home today so look out for them!!!!  We told the bus aunties to make sure the portfolios went off the bus with your child!  I will put the slideshow on Youtube with an address (so you can share it with whoever you want to but the whole world can’t see it! J) I will get to you soon with that.

We had another fun and busy learning week. We…
*learned the sound, hand motion and letter formation for the letter Vv.
*added velcro to our feely letter Vv.
*brainstormed words that began with Vv and added them to our alphabet journals.
*did a lot of things to finish off our portfolios—May self portraits, heights, finished with our favorite parts of Pre-K and wrote about our trip to Sungei Buloh.
*read a lot of Mo Willems books---we are back on an obsession!!
An important note from Pre-K J

Dear Parents and Friends of the ECC,

In June, the ECC will say goodbye to Mrs. Geri Johnson and Mrs. Rosita Abrew Lee.  Mrs. Johnson has served as the Director/Deputy Principal of the ECC since it’s opening in 2004 and will be moving to Delhi, India.  Mrs. Abrew Lee has been the secretary in the ECC since 2004 and will be retiring to spend time with her family.

A farewell on Friday, May 23, before the sing-a-long, is being held in Geri and Rosita’s honor, to thank them for their commitment to SAS.  We invite all parents to say good-bye to these special ladies.

We hope you can drop in next Friday sometime between 11:30 – 12:30 in the ECC Pre-School Group Room to say good-bye and express your best wishes to these amazing women.  They have helped to make the ECC the inspirational and magical place that it is today.

Best regards,
ECC Team
