HAPPY 100 DAY! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
February 13, 2015
Dear Parents,
This week could not have
been busier than it was!!! J We celebrated 100 days of school on Monday,
and Valentine’s day today, continued with our Fairy Tale unit, and did some
more with Chinese New Year! WOW! Since
the four day Chinese New Year holiday is next week, please let me know if you
and your cutie would like to take home Mango and Jelly for a visit! J They have a little
traveling cage and I can give you their food and hay. Just let me know.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! I hope you have had a wonderful day of love
and friendship—we have had a whole week of it!
We do have amazing cuties! They were so happy to give out their
valentines today! And we had a VERY KIND
day J
Here are some things that
happened this week. We…
*learned the name, sound,
and formation for the letter Oo.
*brainstormed/ listed/cut
out words that begin with Oo and wrote them in our alphabet journals.
*added ovals to our feely
letter Oo. Please remember to add this to your feely letter ring and
review all of the letters.
*participated in activities
involved Ovals and Opposites
*painted a “still life” of
our Orange tree
*weighed the oranges off of
our real orange tree and decided how many cubes they weighed. Then we counted the sections of our oranges
and our friends oranges and decided if our orange had more sections or less
*Counted out 10 of each
treat for our 100 day snack using our 100 board.
*Had a visit from ZERO THE
HERO and did 100 exercises!
*counted 100 decorations
for our 100 day cake.
*read The Three Billy Goats
Gruff and talked about this fairy tale.
*learned a little about the
zodiac animals, and watched a lion dance on youtube from New York so we will be
prepared for our real one next week in the ECC
*Read Chinese New Year
books (including a favorite called Two of Everything) as 100 day books and
Valentine’s Day ones!
*made valentine bags and
handed out valentines to our class friends (such good practice reading our
friends names, taking turns and using our manners to say thank you!) Thank you parents for helping the cuties with
this activity! It was worth it! Such love in our class today!!! J

Next week we will review
the letters we have learned, and continue with Chinese New activities.

Elementary School Important Announcements:
~Active Parenting workshop information went home earlier this
week. We highly recommend attendance of this. Parenting begins to get very interesting
at the 4-5year old stage and as a teacher, I receive MANY questions about
parenting small children. Please consider this lovely opportunity. To
RSVP: Please submit your interest
via online form here.
~County Fair needs your help to volunteer! With only 3
Saturdays until County Fair (February 28th), the event still needs over 150
Volunteers. County Fair would not be possible without everyone volunteering in
the community. Please go to the Sign Up Genius link to volunteer.
Thank
you!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!!! Lynsey and Aidah
