Have a wonderful long weekend!
January 29, 2014
Dear Parents,
It was a short week, but a
full one!!! Our cuties were adorable
dressed up today, and enjoyed singing their Chinese songs to the lion dancers
as well as the cafeteria staff, LOVED the loud lion dance, and rattled their
shakers and bells for our parade! J
We finished up Chinese New
Year activities (lanterns, masks and shakers are coming home today in the
Friday Folder blue bags), and finished Nursery Rhymes.
I hope you and your family
have a restful, wonderful four day weekend, and I will see the cuties back on
Monday for another fun week!!! Happy
Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Friday Update Jan 24
January 24, 2014
Dear Parents,
We have had another
exciting and fun week of learning in the yellow starfish classroom! We have also celebrated a lot of January
Birthdays! (and one that happened over our Winter break J) Happy Birthday
Anderson, Suze and Addie! Mango and Jelly are on a big adventure to Ronan’s
house this weekend! They loved staying
with Daniel and Jacob, and will celebrate Chinese New Year with Henry. They love going home with their cuties!!! J
Here are some things that
happened this week. We…
*learned the name, sound,
and formation for the letter Oo.
*brainstormed/ listed/cut
out words that begin with Oo and wrote them in our alphabet journals.
*added ovals to our feely
letter Oo. Please remember to add this to your feely letter ring and
review all of the letters.
*had a visit from Dr.
Landau and he sang Nursery Rhymes with us! We sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,
Hickory Dickory Dock, and the Humpty Dumpty blues.
*painted a picture of
cherry blossoms
*made chinese lanterns and
decorated happy new year symbols for good luck
*learned about the zodiac
animals, and watched a lion dance on youtube from New York so we will be
prepared for our real one next week in the ECC
*Read Chinese New Year
books (including a favorite called Two of Everything) as well as Nursery Rhyme
books (the favorite—the Humpty Dumpty story—it is so cute!)
*practiced our Nursery
Rhymes and acted them out
*participated in activities
involved Ovals and Opposites
*painted a “still life” of
our Orange tree
*weighed the oranges off of
our real orange tree and decided how many cubes they weighed. Then we counted the sections of our oranges
and our friends oranges and decided if our orange had more sections or less
