Pajama Day!

Reading together, snuggling with our stuffies, chocolate pancakes, watching an animal show, being together...
One of our kiddos emphatically stated "This is the best pajama day ever! I love being all together!" So true--Love this class!

Weekly Update and Reminders May 26

PAJAMA DAY!!!  NEXT TUESDAY, MAY 30th
The students are invited to wear their pajamas to school on Tuesday. We will read together, eat popcorn and make chocolate chip pancakes! (At least that’s what the kiddos said they wanted to make yesterday…)  They are welcome to bring a change of clothes (for if they get hot or just want to change) and of course they are welcome to wear normal free dress as well if they want to. Stuffed animals are welcome and invited. J

Is anyone else wondering how this year has gone by so fast!?!?!  I can’t believe we only have one week left to go before the students are big Kindergarten kids!!!!! This week we visited the Elementary School again. We stopped by Ms. Ganske’s music class (she will be one of the Kinder music teachers) and sang and danced together. We looked into the gyms, the swimming pool, perceptual motor (the Kinder version of Move and Groove) and talked to Mr. Schunk, one of the deputy principals.) We walked through the kindergarten area, saw where the nurses are, and talked about all of the things we are excited about for next year, whether we will be at SAS or another place.

We celebrated three birthdays this week!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mei, Ein, and Sanaa!  We are also doing activities that the students have chosen for these last couple of weeks! (They wanted to pick out what to do.)  Some of their favorites…building, painting, writing, drawing, clay and playdoh, reading….we are having some fun before the summer starts.

Weekly Updates and Reminders

The students have had a wonderful adventure today! From the rooftop playground, to the ES library, to the PS cafeteria, to our popcorn party, there was no shortage of smiles!!!  We had a great time, and when we were talking during our connection and reflection time, the students said they really felt excited about the move to kindergarten! A great day and a great week! Just a reminder that Ms. Beth will be here with the students tomorrow and Friday.

Weekly Updates and Reminders May 12

To all of our amazing moms:
Happy Mother’s Day!
We wish you all a wonderful and restful day! You deserve it!

The students are doing great during this time of transition! We have had many collective conversations about Kindergarten, and much drawing and building has been dedicated to this big change! We had a visit from A.J.’s dad’s students—eleventh grade students came to read to our kiddos.  Moms—a little gift is coming home in your child’s blue bag today, so make sure you check it. J

Weekly Update and Reminders May 5

Thank you all so much for attending our Learning Celebration today. The students, Ms. Aidah and I were so incredibly excited to share some of our learning highlights from this year. This class is a very special one, and we feel so thankful to be learning together with them, and celebrating the wonder and possibilities that they bring each and everyday!  We are so proud of them all! Give your child another big hug tonight!  I will share the link for the slideshow in a separate e-mail.

Many parents asked about our banana bread recipe so I am including it here J
